So today, my allergies finally hit me. My eyes itch and are watering like crazy. However, none of my friends are experiencing it as bad as I am. Also, some of my friends don’t feel affected at all. Why do allergies affect some people mroe than others, and some not at all?

I haven’t confirmed with my doc but I an 99% sure I have allergies and they are driving me nuts! I could just scratch my face off - especially my eyes. I have HBP (controlled by meds) so I always have to be careful of certain ingredients in meds. What will I be able to take? Please tell me there is hope!

In Spring/Summer I often get allergies - runny nose, sneezing, irritated eyes, tiredness, headaches. I’ve tried a few different brands containing such things as Fexofenadine Hydrochloride (185mg). They pretty much never work.
A brand called “Chemists’ Own” with 500mg Paracetemol and 10mg Codeine Phosphate basically stops the sneezing and other symptoms.
Why on earth does this work better than drugs supposedly marketed towards allergies?

My doctor says that it is not safe to use allergy medication other than flonase, which seens to make it worse for me. Is there something else I can do?

My body seems like having an allergy attack is a daily thing now. I’ve gotten so used to having hives daily it’s like if I forget to take my allergy meds then I will break out in the middle of the night. Last summer I would break out in hives everyday around 4pm not matter where I was or what I was doing. If it’s now hives my face, around my eyes, my lips, tongue, or throat will swell or fequent headaches. How do people deal with the same problems daily? HELP ME!! This doesn’t run in my family. I have it and now I’ve past it on to my daughter who hasn’t had them as severe as I yet. Can anyone dealing with the same problem give me any answers. The only stress that I have in my life is these allergies. I eat healthy and I used to exercise on my eliptical daily but now that I’m on allergy meds daily I just don’t have the energy anymore.
