Kind Of Allergic Reaction

You probably know that some rings are made from such metal as white gold, which is the mixture of nickel. And this very metal can cause different allergic reactions to the organism of different people. Some people think that it is very fashionable to wear rings made of white gold, plated in rhodium, which is as you may know the whitest member of the platinum metal, and to buy this one more often. This tendency is up to day, as white gold is very often plated in such metal as rhodium.

If you have the ring with whit gold, which is in direct contact, very closely to your skin, and you have the allergic reaction to the nickel, but you like it very much, there is an entry for you. You better go to the jeweler where you bought that ring and ask him to replate it with such metal as rhodium. Or there is one more solution for you: you can simply trade the ring in that shop for the ring of the white gold also but that does not have nickel in it, such as a palladium ring or a platinum ring. AS it is important to know that the metal rhodium is hypoallergenic, and causes no allergic reaction to your skin. But of course this will be true if your rhodium ring is made of real metal.

If you have some problems with the ring or you have some reactions to your skin though you should not have to, you are to call the QVC immediately and tell them about your problem. They have to return your money or give you the ring with the real rhodium metal instead. And if you bought the fake, made of not the rhodium or which is made poorly, you can ask what you want at the QVC centre and they must give you answers.

You are also to know that that very little stratum of rhodium makes the metal look whiter. Also one more advantage of rhodium is that it does not cause any reactions to your skin. The look does not become worse, but you feel safe that you will not have any allergic reactions; his is because of that layer, between your skin and the nickel layer in the ring. Do not worry if your rhodium begins to wear off. It is not a problem at all. As you can go to the jeweler and he will solve this problem, he simply plates it with rhodium again. And you can wear your ring or ear rings for a long period of time. You can be sure that this procedure will last for long time and in case you can do it once more.

Skin Allergies in Your Canine And What To Do About Them

Is your pet constantly itching and scratching? This can be an indication of dog skin allergies. Even home care and nutrition coupled with supplementation of dog vitamins are essential to correct this condition. The typical sign of this common dermatological problem is predominated by itchy condition of your pet hound. Your small animal companion will also manifest sneezing, wheezing and coughing and in some cases will also experience diarrhea and vomiting, and eye and nasal discharge.

Under this hypersensitivity state of your pet canine, the immune system reacts to the presence of foreign matter, normally referred to as antigens or allergens. This event leads to the emergence of this external signs and symptoms that we can usually see in our hounds.

Types of Canine Hypersensitivity

The allergy most commonly seen among pets is the inhalant hypersensitivity or what is normally referred to as atopy. Your pets may have similar reactions to the same types of allergens that affect humans. This means that tree pollens, weed pollens, grass pollens, molds, dust mites and mildew can trigger the sensitive reaction in our pets. Some of these allergens are naturally present in our homes and immediate surroundings while others are present under specific conditions. Under the sensitive condition of our hounds, they will manifest the itchy condition which is generalized. The most common type of sensitivity in most house pets is the atopy type.

The different forms of Staphylococcus are the main causes of bacterial disinclination in our pet mongrels. In general, your pet will not have any problem with Staph bacterial infection if it has healthy skin and normal immune system. However, if your mongrel starts to show a kind of reaction because of Staph infection, it will experience pronounced hair loss problem that is somewhat similar to ringworm. These are circular spots of about half to 2 inches in diameter. These patches or lesions can be treated with specific antibiotics although the infected and recovered animals will have high probability of developing recurrent bacterial disinclination.

Your mongrel may also experience antipathy to specific food types. Food antipathy is the second most seen reaction. It is characterized by a burning sensation within the ear. Oftentimes, mongrels develop this type of antipathy as its way of responding to the food’s protein component. Most of these cases happen before the animal reaches 1 year old and beyond 5 years old. Some examples of the allergen include chicken, turkey, dairy products, beef and pork. This sort of reaction also results to itchiness, respiratory distress and digestive complications.

Your small animal companion will also exhibit hyperactive response to ticks and mites. The normal mutt will only manifest occasional and mild irritation as a result of flea bites. This response is normally not accompanied by itchiness. However, hyperactive response as a result of flea bites will be characterized by severe itchiness. A few bites of the fleas can already produce severe itchiness. This reaction is mainly due to the saliva of the fleas that is left on the dermis of the mongrel. Hounds that suffer from this type of hyperactive response develop scabs and sores which predispose the affected animal to a much harsher infection.

Different Ways Pet Owners Are Taking The Health of Their Pets Seriously

Pet owners today are definitely different from the pet owners of fifty years ago . Back then people that had dogs usually had them as outdoor pets and it was not as common for most families to have a pet either. Today people frequently treat their pets no differently than they would their own kids purchasing them the best of everything and spoiling them like you would not believe. Because pet owners have such a strong bond to their pets, they are doing whatever is necessary regarding their healthcare from giving them dog vitamins all the way to seeing acupuncturists to eliminate the dog skin allergies they may suffer from .

When dogs become sick , it devastates the owner and they will stop at nothing to assist their dog . There are a lot of veterinarians out there in addition to emergency pet clinics for the emergencies that may occur when your vet office is closed . For those people that want a more natural and holistic varieties of medicine themselves, that too is offered for animals incorporating everything from special natural supplements to acupuncture and massage to assist the animal .

One of the best veterinarian hospitals in the world is located in Colorado as part of the Colorado State University Veterinarian school. They have a world renowned teaching hospital there that has a variety of specialties to help dogs and other animals in a variety of illnesses and other medical problems . Pet owners do not care what it costs to transport their animals there to get the medical help they need . A few of the specialties offered at the James L. Voss Teaching Veterinary Hospital are the Center for Integrative Pain Medicine and Natural Healing, Animal Heart Center, and Animal cancer center just to name a few.

The Center for Integrative Pain Medicine and Natural Healing gives assistance with pain management for your pet in a holistic and natural way . This would involve medical acupuncture, Chinese medicine to diagnose ailments, herb research and therapy in addition to laser therapy. These are all considered more alternative methods that are now being used by traditional vets to help treat their animal patients.

The Animal cancer center helps animals and their owners to prevent cancer in addition to treating the animals that get cancer in a various ways. This state of the art facility has many of the same services they would for a human such as chemotherapy, radiation treatment and surgery as options to rid the animal of the cancer. They also have a special pet hospice to assist with end of life care and to help the owners emotionally and educationally through the end of their pet’s life . The hospice gives terminally ill patients to spend their final time at home in the presence of their loving family.

The Animal heart center has state of the art medical and surgical care for the animals that suffer from heart disease. Rather than simply euthanizing their dog when they find out that the dog has heart disease, a lot of owners take them to this center to have surgeries and other medical help to prolong their life and comfort.

Dogs Suffer From Allergies Too !

It’s not only human beings who suffer from allergies. Dogs do too. In fact, many people are not aware that there are about 20% of cases in the United States where dogs suffer from severe allergic reactions caused by different types, such as flea allergy, food allergies, inhalant allergies, and atopic dermatitis.

The same with human beings, dogs suffering from allergies experience similar signs and symptoms. Cases usually vary but they are normally marked by the following:

• Discoloration of the skin
• Persistent itching
• Sneezing
• Coughing
• Wheezing
• Mucus discharge
• Nausea
• Lethargy
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea

Some people ignore when their dogs develop some signs and symptoms such as those mentioned above; however, dog allergies are serious conditions which should not be ignored. If these are not properly addressed, it can be fatal to dogs, just like how human allergies can be life-threatening to people.

Treatments and Consultations:

There are some over-the-counter medications which can be used for treating allergy conditions. You can normally purchase such from any pet supply shop. However, in most cases, it is a wise move to consult the right person first before you give your pet any medications or treatments.

First, some of the signs relating to allergic reactions can actually be symptoms of other serious ailments. Second, if allergic reactions are severe, over-the-counter preparations may be insufficient or not the proper ones to treat the condition and may even trigger more serious health issues for the dog.

Therefore, bringing it to a trusted veterinarian is the best course of action that you can take before anything else. Veterinarians should know what really is happening with your dog. Though the above symptoms and signs are related to suffering from allergies, there are some chances that your dog does not suffer the same condition.

Even if you are sure that your dog is suffering from allergies, you still want to medicate it properly and only the veterinarian can give you that assurance. They can perform certain tests to prove if it was really allergy conditions, how serious they were, and what appropriate medication or treatment should be applied. These tests will also be the right method to identify what type of allergy exists with your dog; therefore, will be recommended only the right treatment and strategies to avoid any recurrence.

If the dog is found to be allergic to some foods it will be the veterinary who will know what and how to restrict your pet’s diet to avoid foods that trigger reactions. Also, if the dog has developed flea dermatitis condition, this will be provided with proper treatment and preventative measures. Similarly, the veterinarian will be able to give your dog the right prevention methods to avoid inhalant allergies to be triggered.

Dogs are similar to humans in that they have the desire to live comfortably and healthily. They do suffer similar conditions which can be deadly if not properly addressed in time. Just as humans consult medical professionals when they suffer allergies so it is with our pet dogs who deserve to be treated by veterinary professionals when they suffer from allergies.

How do you feed your dog variety to prevent allergies when he/she likes a certain food but picky about others?

Allergies
Doggie, Want to Go For a Walk? asked:

I finally found a food my dog loves. He would barely eat before I switched him to Venison. I am wondering though, modern studies have shown that if you feed a dog the same food for a long long time, they develop allergies. So I would like to prevent this. How do I do variety? Can I still feed him the same food always but add different meats?

How can I treat my allergies from animals?

Allergies
Jacqueline H asked:

I don’t get allergic to dogs or anything like that, I’ve basically had them my whole life. But the problem is is that I have guinea pigs which I love DEARLY, and I’m allergic to them! I get rashes below my chin, and above my chest. I don’t get bumps or anything though, I only get bumps from rabbits, which occur on my face. Does anyone know of medicine that I can use to treat these allergies?

Allergies
ultimategear@sbcglobal.net asked:

I’m allergic to dust and certain types of tree pollen. It gets really bad in the spring, in the other seasons its the dust but its not really that bad. I was wondering if there is a way to cure my allergies. The over counter meds and precribed stuff dont really do much for me, especially the non-drowsey stuff. I find only stuff that works is that make me drowsy, but i can’t take those during the day, if not i’ll fall asleep in class or cant pay attention.
