A Look at the Cause of Food Allergy

Allergies
Jack Sands asked:

An allergy takes place when the immune system suddenly has an abnormal response to a certain material that is usually not detrimental to most individuals except those who have allergies. When an allergy is triggered by a substance or allergen, a person’s body recognizes this as a trespasser and subsequently releases chemicals to fight off the “trespasser” causing symptoms that can range from a simple irritation to a fatal reaction that may even lead to death.

Food allergy is a reaction made by the immune system in which antibodies are produced by the body as a result of a negative effect to some foods. Though there are many individuals who claim that they have food allergies, there are only a few who really have certain allergic reactions to food. Most people confuse food allergy with food intolerance. Food intolerance and food allergy are both sensitivity reactions to food, but intolerance to certain types of food does not affect the immune system and isn’t really a life threatening incident.

As of the present time, the medical world still has not found any cure for food allergies. Allergy management only involves the prevention of intake of food allergens and some diet modifications.

Looking closely, during an allergic reaction, the body’s immune system releases antibodies, specifically immunoglobulin E. It subsequently causes the production of chemicals like histamine in the process of “protecting” the body. Now, these chemicals are the root cause of symptoms which may include an irritation in the eyes, skin, throat, lungs, and the gastrointestinal organs. These takes place whenever the individual is exposed to the allergen.

Although any type of food can cause allergic reactions to different types of individuals, there are eight major foods out there that are often the main culprits of an allergic reaction. These eight major allergy-causing foods are: fish, soy, milk, wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish.

By and large, individuals afflicted with allergies react only to some allergy-causing foods. Sometimes, allergy to a certain type of food may also cause allergic reaction to foods that may be related with the allergen food. This incidence is known as cross-reaction. For instance, an allergic reaction to wheat may also cause a reaction to rye. Allergy to pollens subsequently causes an allergy to green apples, hazelnuts, almonds, and peaches. A reaction to goat’s milk may also be associated with an allergy to cow’s milk. And the list goes on and on.

Moreover, individuals who have been afflicted with asthma and/or eczema may also be at risk of developing a food allergy. With bad luck, they would probably have a reaction that is more severe than those people who only have food allergy to worry about. This is due to the fact that when an allergy takes place the person will be under stress which then may lead to triggering their asthma and/or eczema which will aggravate the situation.

But the intensity of the reaction will depend on some circumstances like the individual’s sensitivity threshold to the food allergen, amount of eaten food, and the exposure scale the person has to the food.

Although, there is no cure to allergies, self-discipline and vigilance will help you, the allergy-sufferer, overcome these food problems. There may be some medications out there that alleviate the symptoms but a consultation to the physician will give you a better understanding to your allergy problems as well as treatment recommendations.

Managing Kids Allergic To Dogs

Medications for allergies can give relief for kids allergic to dogs , but if you plan to keep your dog, you’ll need to do your best to control dog allergy symptoms in your allergic child without the constant use of medication. Also, allergy medications may not prove effective in homes with multiple dogs.

Allergy shots are options for some kids with dog allergies; discuss this option with your child’s doctor.

Since dog saliva is the most allergenic dog allergen, thus limiting contact between your child and the dog’s saliva is the first step. It is recommended to train the dog not to kiss or lick people (all people, since the dog won’t likely single out your allergic child) and teach your child to do their best to keep dog saliva off of them. You can minimize exposure to airborne dog allergens by taking the following steps as a course of management for kids and dog allergies.

• Spay or neuter your dog—hormones impact allergen production in dogs
• Limit the dog’s area of the house and keep dogs out of children’s bedrooms if they are allergic
• Use encasing dust covers on mattresses and upholstered furniture
• Wash child bedding frequently in hot water
• Let your dog spend as much time as possible outdoors
• Bathe the dog every week
• Brush dog 1-3 times per week
• Use an allergen-reducing pet grooming product, such as an emollient that helps clean away pet allergens trapped in the dog and its fur
• Wipe the dog down on non-bath days with a wet cloth
• Vacuum the house daily using a HEPA filtered vacuum cleaner
• Use household air cleaners/filters
• Steam clean furniture and carpets
• Remove wall-to-wall carpeting and replace with hard flooring
• Keep dogs off furniture and never allow them to sleep on your child’s bed
• Replace filters in heating, cooling, and air conditioning units regularly
• Have child wash hands and face after playing with the dog, and change clothing when practical

Solved: Allergies–article By Judy Sinner

Would you like to understand allergy, dog, cat, horse or human?
One of my jobs is to help people overcome health issues by replacing them with excellent, ever perfect health. Ths paradigm we embrace is “No sickness nor disease can survive in a perfectly healthy body.” We embrace it because it has proven so far to be absolutely true.
What is the biggest health issue we hear about and are asked for advice on? Allergies! Although it rears it’s ugly head wearing many disguises, it is still just your basic allergic reaction raising hell with the body. Allergies affect humans, but especially affect oour animal friends. Most of my advice is to the benefit of animals.
Even though the person, species and symptomatic idiosyncrasies of the allergy may vary, the solution always comes down to the same basic three steps:
1. Quit loading the body with the bad stuff,
2. Begin pulling the bad stuff back out, and,
3. Commence putting the essential good stuff in.
Step number 1 is all about toxins. Our environment is now so loaded with both organic and heavy metal toxins it is a testimony to the body and spirit that life still exists here at all. The toxins are EVERYWHERE, in the air, in our water, and more and more is getting in our foods because of intentionally contaminated fertilizers. (EPA guardians: There will be a special place for you in Hell if there is, in fact, eternal justice …) My trusted experts tell me that heavy metal toxins are responsible for at least 95% of allergy, dog, cat, horse or human
Given that “We, the People” no longer have any control over our government (Who can afford to out-bid the special interest groups) we must be particularly careful about the discretionary toxins that so many people have been influenced to imbibe. If you want to life a long, healthy life, it is imperative that you learn what those are. To your good fortune, my friend Judy Sinner wrote a wonderfully complete article that will provide a “Survival 101” those who care to learn. It is posted online at:
horse skin problems
It is so complete that we initially considered publishing it as an e-book for sale online. People have a tendency to disrespect the value of that which they get for free. It is of such value that we wanted everyone to have access to it, so if you tend to discount things that are free, please just get over it and take advantage of it anyway. If it is important to you to pay for it, go onto “Second Life”, go to the “Walk of Life” on Crystal Springs and donate a few thousand Linden Dollars to the operating fund there. :o)
Step number 2 used to be extremely difficult, expensive, agonizing, complicated and dangerous. Fortunately, this is no longer the case, and detoxing has become simple, safe and comparatively inexpensive. This is primarily due to discovery of a particular size zeolite formation which, when properly processed, solves the heavy metal problem that most of us face. Unfortunately, it interfered with a very lucrative, albeit ineffective disease management industry that I dare not mention here, so it was virtually ignored by those who could have used it for the benefit of humanity. It took the influence of an already-successful MLM company to make it available to the masses. I won’t reveal what the product is here, but the referenced articles do mention it, and will link you to it, if you want to take advantage of it.
Step number 3 would appear to be a no-brainer: just eat good, nutritious foods, take your “one-a-day” or “Centrum wnatever” and let the body do its thing. Sorry to disappoint. The no-brained “Damn the sick and dying! Full profit ahead!” battle cry of the chemical manufacturers, large corporate farms and struggling, undereducated independent growers have eliminated that possibility. Even organically grown fruits and vegetables don’t have enough nutrition to sustain adequate health, and most of the nutritional supplements being sold in all the big-name stores are high in toxins and low in useable nutrition. Our research has taken us far and wide to locate nutritional sources that our testing indicates to be adequate enough to put in our own bodies, and the bodies of our animal friends. I cannot reveal the names of the companies that we buy from in this post, but their initials are: “Dynamite,” “Wachters,” and “Waiora.” But no more about those for now - they are adequately revealed in the articles that you are heading over to go read right now — CORRECT?

Do I need to remind you that it isn’t just allergy, dog, cat, horse or human, but life itself very likely depends upon it?
